TrainingPro Online Courses

What is “inactivity," and how could it affect me while taking my online course?

In order to offer the most effective online training, TrainingPro provides several safeguards to our students. These safeguards include protecting your course progress and profile information from unauthorized individuals and monitoring the time spent on a course. If the site recognizes a period of “inactivity,” which includes no new information downloads, page advancement, or page refreshing, the course can be disrupted. Please note that scrolling is not recognized as an activity.

If you experience this disruption in your online course, you will be prompted to log back in from the TrainingPro homepage, www.trainingpro.com. Once logged in, you will be able to access your course again and advance to where you left off. The time you logged in previously will NOT be lost. (Please note that this does NOT apply to our OHIO course. If you are logged out of our system due to inactivity in an OHIO course, you will have to start that section over from the beginning.)

How do I refresh the page I am working on?

To refresh the page you are working on, double click the “refresh” or “reload” icon, located at the top, left side of your screen. The icon typically resembles a white page with two green arrows pointing in a circular motion. If you double click on this icon, it will force your computer to check in with the internet source and re-download the page you are on.

The screen says my certificate is pending.  Why can’t I view my certificate?

If you are unable to view your completion certificate, it is most likely because the course requires a proctor form (see “What is proctoring?” below). Your certificate will be released to you once TrainingPro receives and reviews your proctor form. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when your certificate is available. This e-mail will include step-by-step instructions for viewing and printing your certificate from the TrainingPro website. Please allow up to 24 business hours for your certificate to be available.

What is a “timed course”?

Timed courses track and record the time you have spent reviewing the course material. Like live training, online students must also meet the credit hour requirement set by the state. To ensure the credit hours are met, the courses are timed. For example, if you are taking a six credit hour online course, you must spend six hours of traceable time logged into, and actively viewing, the course. Please note that printing the course material and reading it from a hard copy can not be logged and, therefore, does not count toward earned credit hours.

I have completed the course, but the site still lists it as incomplete?

If your course is listed as incomplete, please check two items. First, make sure you have spent the required amount of time completing your course (if the course is timed). Second, make sure you have clicked the “Complete Lesson” button found in the bottom right-hand corner of the last page of the course. Once clicked, the system will allow you to move forward.

Proctoring

What is proctoring?

Proctoring is a means of verifying the identity of an online student and ensuring that student is indeed the individual taking the course. As regulations in the mortgage industry get tighter, more and more states require continuing and/or pre-licensing education courses to be proctored.

Which states require proctor forms?

  • Illinois
  • Iowa*
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana*

Who can be my proctor?

A proctor may be any one of the following individuals as long as they are not related by blood, marriage, or any other relationship to the student that would influence them from properly administering the test:

  • Human resources or training department staff
  • Senior management or immediate supervisor from the student’s place of employment
  • Licensed librarian from public, college, or university library
  • Professor or teaching faculty at local college or university
  • Clergyman

What is the process for proctoring?

Students must arrange for the proctor to be present to supervise the examination that follows the completion of the course.

For Online Courses: The Proctor Form Information page must be filled out in its entirety by both the student and the proctor.  You can print the proctor form from the “Take Test” page, or on the home page, once the course is completed. Misinformation will result in the delay of the release of the student’s certificate as well as the reporting of the credit hours earned to the State, if applicable.  Once the student has successfully completed the test, the completed proctor form will be available to print.  After the proctor form is signed by both the student and the proctor, the form must then be faxed or mailed to TrainingPro for processing.  Once processed, the student’s certificate of completion will be released.

For Home Study Courses:  A proctor form is included in the home study course package. It must be filled out legibly and in its entirety by the student and the proctor. Both parties must sign the proctor form. Fax or mail the completed form and the completed test to TrainingPro. (Please note that Ohio proctor forms can not be faxed). Any missing information or misinformation will result in delayed release of the student’s certificate as well as delayed reporting of credit hours earned to the state, if applicable.

* What education documentation does my state require?

Some states require additional documentation to be sent to the education provider.

Iowa requires that a Student Verification Form be sent in to TrainingPro before a certificate can be released.  This form is not a Proctor Form, but is a signed legal statement by the student, which must be signed in the presence of a witness.

Louisiana requires that the student also submits a clear photo copy of their photo ID with their proctor form.

Montana and Ohio require a student verification statement, which must be notarized, in addition to the proctor form.

NORTH CAROLINA ONLY ALLOWS the following list of approved proctors:

  •           Licensed librarian from public, college, or university library
  •           Professor or teaching faculty at local college or university
  •           Clergyman
  •           Police officer
  •           Judge
  •           Notary
  •           School principal

IMPORTANT: No employee from your company can act as a proctor unless they are a notary (FOR NORTH CAROLINA COURSES ONLY). This guideline applies to all staff including Human Resources or Training Department staff, Senior Management or Immediate Supervisor from the student’s place of employment.

Does my proctor have to supply his/her social security number?

Only the student is required to provide his/her social security number to TrainingPro. If a proctor prefers not provide that information, he/she may leave it blank. However, that is the only line that may be left blank on the proctor form. All other information must be filled out to avoid any delays.

Can TrainingPro be my proctor?

No. A proctor must be physically present while you take the exam. Please see the proctor form instructions for a list of approved proctors. The list can be found by clicking on “Who can be my Proctor?”

Now that I have earned my credit hours is my license renewed?

Completion of credit hours does not mean your license has been renewed. Check with the state or your company’s compliance office to confirm the renewal process.

Registration

Why I am required to enter my social security number when I register?

TrainingPro is required by some states to include each student's social security number when submitting completion hours for pre-licensing and/or continuing education. These states include:

  • Colorado
  • Florida*
  • Idaho (last 4 digits)
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Montana
  • Oklahoma
  • Oregon (Entry Level Only)
  • Utah
  • Washington
  • Wisconsin

  • * The state of Florida will also accept a Florida Mortgage License Number in place of a social security number for the purposes of reporting. If you would prefer to provide your Florida Mortgage License number instead of your social security number, please contact TrainingPro Customer Support to verify that we have your license number on file.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are receiving education for a state that is NOT listed above, you may enter your social security number as 111-11-1111 when registering. If you choose to enter "111-11-1111" as your social security number, and then decide to complete your education for a state that requires this information, TrainingPro will be unable to submit your completion hours to the state until there is a proper social security number on file within your profile.
